Peltandra

This hardy, aquatic perennial is mainly grown for its decorative foliage. P. virginica, the Arrow Arum as it is commonly called, is a native of North America. It produces large, glossy dark green, arrow-shaped leaves. In the summer, unnoticeable, Arum-like, greenish flowers are produced and these are followed by green berries. This variety grows 1 or 2 feet high. Another variety, P. sagittifolia, produces red berries.
